It’s been a week since I returned from Dhaka. My time there flew by very fast since I was holed up in an office working away. Ahh the wonderful life of a consultant. This assignment was probably one of the more stressful projects I’ve worked on and yet, the most fun at the same time. I am also happy to say that the food was much better this time around! I’ll post more about that soon.
|Whole fish at the Westin! Well hello there.|
This past weekend, Chris and I went down to Monterey to wish Ryan and Maegen, two of our closest friends, good luck as they are leaving for Florida – where rumor has it, there are bugs and alligators. Just stay inside the nice air conditioned malls! Their going away party was in a barn – a really awesome barn. Probably the best barn ever.
The food was amazing. Maegen’s family provided an awesome spread from steak tips, to chili, to mango grilled salmon. My favorite dish was the watermelon, feta and mint salad. (Summer is here!) And there was even a band for their send-off! It was really fun except for the fact that I was jet-lagged and cranky.
I am so happy for them both! Lately, it seems a lot of our good friends are leaving California for the East coast. What in the world is happening? You can’t leave me! At least not until I leave you first. That doesn’t make any sense. Anyways, I know I’ll remain friends with everyone (or at least I will try my hardest) but I do wish sometimes that everyone I know can all be together in one place…forever. Does anyone ever feel that way? Maybe it’s a horrible idea but who knows. I’d still like to try it. Where shall we go?
