Austin, Texas: My New Favorite City

I’m back from a five-day trip to Austin and it was so much fun! I kind of have a crush on Texas now, or I guess Austin really since my trip to Dallas wasn’t as memorable. Maybe it’s because I went with three of my cousins this time and whenever we’re together, all we do is eat, laugh, eat, and watch YouTube videos. Frankly, I would have fun with them in a four white-wall box (maybe that will be our next vacation), but we all had an amazing time in Austin.

Happy hour at 219 West/ fried chicken at 219 West/ getting coffee from Patika Coffee/ forcing the guy at Patika to snap a picture of us
I already want to go back and have more breakfast tacos. Why don’t they have that everywhere?
Here’s our trip in pictures:

Stevie Ray Vaughan monument at Lady Bird Lake/ walking along Lady Bird Lake Trail/ Texas Capitol Building at night/ view of Colorado River from Congress Ave Bridge

At the farmer’s market: Cake & Spoon stand/ Harvest time stand/ Dai Due Butcher shop/ breakfast tacos from Dai Due

Brisket from The Salt Lick/ condiments from Elizabeth Street Cafe/ vermicelli bowl with grilled shrimp from Elizabeth Street Cafe/ fried blueberry pie with cinnamon ice cream from Second Bar + Kitchen/ sausages from Banger’s Sausage House and Beer Garden/  black and bleu pizza from Second Bar + Kitchen
Posing in front of the iconic graffiti outside of Jo’s Hot Coffee/ laughing over birthday champagne at Second Bar + Kitchen/ looking fancy/ brunch at Lambert’s Downtown Barbecue/ playing around at Tesoros

What’s not to love about Austin? The people are great, the vibe is awesome, and there is live music everywhere – and I mean everywhere. We visited the flagship Whole Foods, and there was live music there! And the food is so good I wish we had more time (and bigger stomachs) to eat at all the different restaurants. We already have a list of places to go to when we are back in Austin!
